The head of the Italian Chamber for the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Pier Ferdinando Casini has expressed hope that the European mission led by the High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security in the European Union, Josep Borrell will have a "clear plan" on overcoming the political crisis and the ongoing military conflict in Libya.

“I hope that European foreign ministers will head to Libya on January 7 with clear ideas and not to depend only on goodwill," Casini said.

"We are already too late. Either Europe and Italy wake up, or Libya will be lost," he added.
