The Public Prosecutor’s Office has ordered the detention of the head of the Health Services Department in Qarabulli municipality on charges of financial corruption.
In a statement shared on its Facebook page, the Office of the Attorney General revealed that investigations, led by a deputy prosecutor, uncovered violations attributed to the official. These included the unlawful disbursement of funds allocated for insurance contracts against occupational risks for medical and paramedical staff.
The statement also alleged that the official deliberately used forged documents to claim possession of an academic qualification recognized by the competent authority responsible for appointing municipal health services directors.
The Public Prosecutor's Office confirmed that the accused has been placed in pretrial detention pending further investigation into the financial practices within the department.
