The High National Electoral Commission (HNEC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Education to increase the depth of preparation for the upcoming December 24 elections.

The commission stated in a statement that the MoU included activating the partnership between the commission and Ministry of Education regarding the use of educational buildings and facilities as polling centers during the election period, along with the organization of the practical functional use of educators, to be targeted for training for work in the centers.

It further noted that the MoU specified the detailed legalities of engaging in training programs that the commission directs at employees of the polling centers, along with various items related to polling day procedures and the responsibilities of both parties for the success of this official process.
