A delegation representing Libya's High National Electoral Commission (HNEC) attended the 11th General Assembly meeting of the Association of African Election Authorities, which Benin hosted on Friday.

According to the HNEC, the discussions focused on ways to develop the electoral processes conducted within the member states of the African Union.

The group also exchanged notes on mechanisms to raise the level of transparency and professionalism in this field, as well as solutions to overcome the obstacles and secure the political rights of voters.

It is noteworthy that Libya holds the position of Vice-President of the Association of African Electoral Boards, which was conceived at the Colloquium of African Election Authorities in Zimbabwe in November 1994 before it developed into an association with 16 full members and six associate members.
