The Chairman of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), Imad Sayeh, declared in a press statement Sunday that a bill to elect a new parliament has been submitted for adoption.

Sayeh explained that the bill will take into account the disadvantages of previous electoral systems, which was based primarily on the independent individual system.

He further clarified that the bill proposes that 80% of the seats go for political parties and 20% for independent individuals who are members of civil society institutions and syndicates.
