Chairman of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), Emad Al-Sayeh, met with the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General, Stephanie Kouri, to discuss preparations for municipal council elections.
The HNEC indicated that the initiative is part of the international community's support for elections in Libya.
The discussion covered the political parties' positions on the electoral process, including the municipal council elections and chances of success.
The meeting also addressed the challenges facing the support project managed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Libya and made urgent decisions to advance the project in support of the municipal council elections.
