The House of Representatives (HoR) announced on Tuesday that a parliamentary committee, formed by Speaker Aguila Saleh, held a meeting in Tripoli with members of the political office of the UN mission to discuss the security and humanitarian situation in the capital.
According to HoR spokesperson Abdullah Bliheg, the meeting, held at the UN mission’s headquarters in Tripoli, addressed the overall situation in western Libya and reviewed the UN mission’s stance and programs in response to the ongoing developments in the capital.
Last Thursday, HoR Speaker Saleh issued a decision to establish this temporary parliamentary committee to monitor developments in Tripoli and engage with both local and international parties to help bring an end to the clashes.
