Member of the House of Representatives (HoR), Ziad Daghaim, has criticized the swearing-in ceremony of Mohammed Al-Shukri as a new governor of the Central Bank of Libya by the HoR in its Monday session.

Daghaim told local media outlets that the swearing in is violation of the political agreement and a provocative act to the High Council of State as a partner of the political process.

He expressed his surprise by the misconduct of HoR MPs on what he called unilateral acts that do not hold any realistic or international values.

He pointed out that this step will lead to “burning Al-Shukri's card” and make him appear as a governor of a particular party instead of representing one unified banking institution.
