Human Rights Solidarity (HRS) has called for the release of 1700 detainees in the prisons of the Special Deterrent Force of the Ministry of the Interior, held in the prison cells at Mitiga in Tripoli without any legal procedures.

In its statement on Friday, the HRS called on the Presidential Council to control the “militias” it supports, and to constantly strive to protect the rights of civilians, adding that the latest person arrested by the Special Deterrent Force was a citizen named Naji al-Issawi who was taken by force from his house on Hawatah Street in Tripoli, without charge.
