The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has called upon those bearing arms in Tripoli to avoid civilian casualties and not to target state institutions.

"Our teams are on the ground to assess the needs of the conflict-affected people and to support the health facilities in the capital," said the ICRC's head of the delegation for Libya, Karl Mattli.

He added that the committee has donated four war-wounded kits to the main hospitals in Tripoli with medical material sufficient to treat 200 casualties.
