The head of the Detention Center of Illegal Immigrants in Gharyan, Abdul Hamid Muftah, described the situation for thousands of immigrants who were transferred to Gharyan during the armed clashes in Sabratha as a tragedy.
Reuters quoted Muftah as saying that children and pregnant women are among the thousands of immigrants in the center and they are in dire need of medical assistance.
Muftah appealed to all international and local organizations to consider the humanitarian conditions of these immigrants, calling on all organizations to send their human rights monitors to the center.
