The Ministry of Interior reported the shutdown of a factory in Wadi Al-Rabee used for smelting stolen copper and aluminium electrical wires.
The General Administration of Electrical Police in Tripoli, in coordination with Tajoura Security Directorate’s Criminal Investigation Department, conducted a raid in the Zatarnah area, detaining one Egyptian national on-site.
The ministry reported that officers found copper moulds made from melted electrical wires, additional wires prepared for smelting, and a large quantity of cables and components belonging to the General Electricity Company of Libya.
Legal action has been initiated, with the case referred to the public prosecutor.
