Internet service is back to most parts of Zawiya city after days of suspension, Libya Telecom and Technology (LTT) confirmed on Tuesday.

The company ensured that work is ongoing to restore the service to the rest of the areas after the Internet service was affected by the collapse of a communication tower.

The 127-meter-high Zawiya post tower collapsed last Thursday amid fierce winds as a stand storm battered the western parts of the country.

Libyan Post Telecommunications and IT Company said it had dispatched a team to get the tower back to service, but their work was hindered by the armed clashes that erupted on Thursday in the city.
