Reliable sources from Benghazi have confirmed the murder of Mohammed Ghoneim, an official interpreter of press conferences for Haftar’s spokesman, Ahmed Mismari, in the city of Benghazi.

The source added that he was kidnapped by an armed group, approximately one year ago and was intentionally killed in one of the prisons in which he was incarcerated, adding that his remains were deliberately not surrendered to his relatives, regardless of the fact that they were officially informed of his death and the presence of his body in the Benghazi Medical Center.

The family of Ghoneim attempted continuously to contact Mismari to ascertain the status of their son, pleading for his release, however, he denied having any knowledge of Ghoneim’s fate.

Ghoneim was kidnapped from his own home in May of 2020, having been accused of being a spy and fraternising with foreign parties.
