The Director-General of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Amy Pope, is urging more funds for flood victims in Libya.

In a statement published by the organization, Pope requested $22 million to accelerate urgent recovery efforts, noting that only 30% of the required funding is available.

It called on local authorities in Libya to facilitate a unified national mechanism to direct relief and reconstruction efforts in the areas affected by Storm Daniel.

The IOM also emphasized the importance of ensuring transparency and accountability based on the situation and emergency needs on the ground.
