The International Organization for Migration announced the death of 5 migrants in their journey across the Mediterranean from 28th of July to 3rd of August 2024.
The organization said in its weekly report that approximately 900 migrants aiming for the Old Continent, were returned back to Libya from the Mediterranean, during the same period.
According to the organization, among the returned migrants were 28 children and more than 45 women of different nationalities.
The total number of people who died on average from the beginning of the year until August 3 was 411 migrants, in addition to the loss of 512 others.
The number of those returned from the Mediterranean during the same period reached 12,584 migrants, including 884 women and 413 children.
