The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has announced that more than 14,000 illegal immigrants have been deported from Libya to their countries of origin this year alone.

The IOM confirmed the expansion of their voluntary humanitarian repatriation program and the implementation of a large-scale airlift operation, which they expect will add the capability of the IOM to repatriate another 15.000 illegal immigrants by the end of this year.

The organization stated on their official website that the establishment of a joint task force aims to ensure that the migration crisis in Libya is addressed in a coordinated manner with all parties concerned.
