The Department of Support and Development of Medical Services announced the start of chronic total occlusion percutaneous coronary intervention (CTO PCI) procedures at Al-Hadaba Al-Khadra General Hospital.
The department explained that these procedures were being performed by the visiting Italian doctor, Alfredo Glassi, and added that they had been carried out in cooperation with the hospital’s medical staff, in the presence of a number of Libyan doctors to qualify and train them in this type of operations.
This initiative comes as part of the medical treatment localization project, which is implemented by the Authority with the aim of providing medical care within the country and reducing the need for travel, in addition to exchanging experiences between Libyan and foreign medical teams.
