Libya's stability is crucial for the entire Mediterranean region and NATO’s southern flank, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani told the Turkish press on the sidelines of his visit to Ankara.
"Italy and Turkey share a firm commitment to Libya’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national unity."
The head of Italy's top diplomacy said the two countries are among the major economic partners of Libya, and both want to see a stable and prosperous state there."
He highlighted that his country has repeatedly called for free and fair elections in Libya, as he reiterated that Turkey and Italy fully support the efforts of the United Nations to facilitate a comprehensive political solution for Libya.
