The Italian Foreign Minister, Luigi di Maio, said Italy and France were completely at odds on Libya, but now they have a meeting of intelligence for sharing information every six months.

Di Maio told a session for the foreign affairs commission of the Italian House of Representatives, regarding bilateral cooperation with France, that they had different ideas regarding ending the crisis in Libya when he came to office in 2019.

"Thanks to the work of Italian and French institutions, now we have the same vision on Libya and for Libya's future by supporting the Government of National Unity and political process in the last two years via the UN, EU, Berlin Conference and latest conference in Paris.
