Italian Interior Minister Matteo Bentedosi has stated that his country needs Turkey's cooperation in files such as the Libyan, stressing the importance of strengthen security cooperation and intensifying the exchange of visits between the two countries.

This came in a joint press conference in Ankara with his Turkish counterpart, Suleiman Soylu, on the sidelines of the signing of a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the Italian and Turkish border police.

The Italian minister pointed out that the two countries have a common vision on confronting illegal immigration and combating terrorism.
