The Italian news agency "Nova" confirmed that the Italian Foreign Ministry had amended the notice on the “Travel Safely” website, easing restrictions on travel to Libya.
Nova has said that travel to Libya is no longer prohibited in general if motivated by necessity, work or business reasons, noting that travel for tourism is still prohibited even if organized by travel agencies or tour operators.
The change in notice comes as the Italian-Libyan Business Forum is set to take place in Tripoli on October 28-29.
The event, which aims to strengthen economic and trade relations between the two countries, is expected to be attended by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Italian Minister of Business and Industry Adolfo Urso.
