The Secretary-General of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ettore Francesco Sequi, has expressed his country's support for the United Nations mediation between the Libyan parties, led by the UN Adviser on Libya Stephanie Williams.

This came during his meeting with Finnish Foreign Minister, Matti Anttonen, to discuss bilateral, European and international issues, and the need to support stability in Libya, according to Italian media.

Last week, Italian Foreign Minister, Luigi Di Maio, confirmed that Libya is still a source of concern for his country, due to the developments of the scene in the Mediterranean countries opposite the southern Italian coasts.
