Italian sources said that Rome had recently sent an important security delegation to Tripoli, led by police chiefs, to meet with the Interior Minister-designate of the Government of National Unity, Emad Al-Trabelsi, to pave the way for a possible visit by Italian Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi.

According to the Italian Nova News Agency, the meeting reviewed prospects for joint cooperation in security between Libya and Italy, in addition to exchanging visions and strategies regarding combating the phenomenon of illegal immigration as an issue not only of a national nature, but also of regional and international ones.

According to NOVA, Al-Trabelsi reviewed the security plans related to the file of illegal immigration and its consequences, explaining the objectives and elements, in addition to forming a committee that works to implement that plan, according to the Libyan Interior Ministry.
