The Tunisian Foreign Minister, Othman Jerandi, discussed with the Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Abdoulaye Bathily, the international efforts to help advance a political settlement and the role of neighbouring countries in supporting such efforts.

During their meeting, which was held in Tunisia, Jerandi renewed to Bathily, before heading to Tripoli, his country’s readiness to provide all forms of support to UNSMIL, to complete the political track, and to conclude a Libyan-Libyan political solution, in a manner conducive to preserving Libya’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.

For his part, the UN envoy confirmed his keen interest to make every effort and intensify efforts to help restore stability to Libya, in a way that restores the region's balance and promotes regional and international peace and security.
