The Joint Force arrested on Tuesday a man suspect for the murder of two people, and the wounding of another, after he opened fire on a number of vehicles in the "Jibs Gate" area in Tripoli, while he was drunk.

The suspect injured one of the security men during his arrest and also violently resisted his apprehension, according to a statement by the Joint Force.

The force confirmed that the man is now in custody pending referral to the Public Prosecutor to take legal measures against him.

Meanwhile, protesters closed the Al-Sawani Road, and the routs leading to the Jibs Gate district, in protest of the shooting incident, before it was subsequently reopened.
