Members from the Joint Military Committee (5 + 5) arrived in Sirte on Sunday, accompanied by a delegation from the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL).

Sources said that the committee is expected to hold its meeting Monday, after the full attendance of its members from both sides.

In the presence of the UN mission, the committee will discuss what was agreed upon during previous meetings, regarding the mechanism for implementing the permanent ceasefire that was signed in Geneva in October 2020.

Reports of the security and police subcommittees and the clearance of mines and war remnants will also be reviewed in preparation for the opening of the coastal road between Sirte and Misrata.
