The Libyan Minister of Justice Halima Abdel Rahman stressed the need to abide by national and international human rights standards within the country's rehabilitation institutions.
During her visit to the main rehabilitation institution in Tripoli, the minister reiterated that the efforts of the Ministry of Justice don't stop at meeting the requirements of the provisions of international law related to providing the minimum level of treatment for prisoners, but rather seek to ensure that prisoners enjoy their full rights.
The minister reaffirmed the inmates' right to obtain full healthcare, and to allocate additional spaces for social care and family visits in order to promote human rights.
