The Tarhuna Victims Association has raised concern over the continued impunity of members of the so-called "Kaniyat" militia following confirmed reports of several criminals from the group residing in various cities across eastern and western Libya, including Zawiya.
In a statement, the association revealed that many of these individuals have joined armed groups that offer them protection, allowing them to evade arrest despite warrants issued by both civil and military prosecutors.
The bloc urged the authorities to take immediate action, calling for the identification and apprehension of these criminals.
The notorious Kaniyat militia, which supported Haftar during the 2019 offensive on Tripoli, was sanctioned by the US over war crimes accusations.
