The Public Prosecution has ordered the imprisonment of a commander working with Kaniyat militia allied with Khalifa Haftar’s forces, on charges of killing 22 people from the city of Tarhuna, according to Attorney Genral’s Office announcement on Saturday.

This came against the backdrop of investigations by the Public Prosecutor part of the Committee to Investigate Violations Attributed to the Kaniyat miltia with the accused after he was arrested by the Stabilization Support Service southwest of the capital, Tripoli, according to a statement issued by the office.

The statement indicated that the accused confessed during investigations to committing 22 murders after joining the notorious Kaniyat militia, and it was decided to detain him pending further investigation.
