Stephanie Koury, Acting Head of the UN Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), pledged the UN’s full support for the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) during a phone call with the Bank’s Governor, Sadek Elkaber, on Monday.
A statement by the CBL said discussions centred on the “increasing threats” to the security and safety of the Central Bank, its employees, and its systems.
Both parties emphasized the importance of maintaining the stability of the Central Bank and ensuring it continues to play a vital role in preserving the state’s financial sustainability.
