The Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Acting Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Stephanie Koury, held a meeting on Sunday evening with the Head of the High National Elections Commission, Imad Al-Sayeh, during which the progress of the ongoing process of organizing municipal council elections was reviewed.
Koury said in a tweet posted on her X account that she praised the Commission’s success in implementing the municipal elections so far, stressing the need to continue institutional support to HNEC.
The meeting also touched on the national elections and the need to provide an implementable framework for their conduct, she added.
