The departing UN special envoy to Libya Jan Kubis has stressed the need to preserve the integrity and unity of the National Oil Corporation.

Kubis, who met the NOC head Mustafa Sanalla in Tripoli Tuesday, discussed means to support the Corporation and its companies at all levels to enable it to run the sector and maintain the current production rates.

A statement by the NOC said that Kubis expressed deep concern about the challenges facing the NOC in the current period and emphasized the need to depoliticize the Corporation and preserve its integrity and unity.

The NOC quoted Kubis as saying that Libya's natural wealth should benefit all Libyans through transparent management, fair distribution of wealth, and delivering good services.
