Libya and Algeria have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening financial and economic cooperation during high-level talks held on the sidelines of the Islamic Development Bank Group’s annual meetings in Algiers.
Libyan Minister of Finance Khaled Al-Mabrouk and Algerian counterpart Abdelkarim Bouzard met on Tuesday to explore ways to enhance bilateral ties, with a particular focus on deepening collaboration in key economic sectors.
A key topic of discussion was the role of the Maghreb Bank for Investment and Foreign Trade in promoting regional integration.
Both ministers emphasized the importance of the bank in facilitating intra-Maghreb trade and joint investment initiatives.
They also discussed the potential for increasing the bank’s capital to better support its developmental mission and contribute more effectively to the economies of member states.
