Minister of Transport Mohamed Al-Shahoubi has announced the activation of the Libyan-Italian cooperation agreement for infrastructure projects.
The announcement coincided with the 30th Libyan-Italian Economic Forum held in Tripoli on Tuesday, attended by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
Al-Shahoubi confirmed that the Cabinet approved a contract with the Italian company Todini to implement road infrastructure projects, including the Al-Khums to Al-Azizia (134 km) and Al-Azizia to Ras Jedir (160 km) routes.
A letter of acceptance for Todini’s proposal is expected to be issued during the forum, marking the start of preparations and contract finalization. The step prepares for the signing of the final contract for the Al-Azizia to Ras Jedir road project, aimed at enhancing infrastructure and road networks, according to Minister Al-Shahoubi.
