Libya's national weightlifting team took off to a flying start after clinching six medals in the African Youth and Junior Championships taking place in Morocco.

The competition kicked off in the Moroccan city of Casablanca last Friday and will continue until September 30.

On Monday, Kamal Abdel Nasser Chalabi bagged three gold medals in the youth's 55 kg category, while Abdel Malik Abu Bakr Al Doukali clinched a gold medal, besides two silvers in the youth's 61kg, the Libyan Olympic Committee reported.

Libya's weightlifting team consists of 24 individuals, including administrators, coaches, and athletes.
