In a statement on Monday, Libya’s Foreign Ministry expressed solidarity with the government and people of Niger, reaffirming its rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism that threaten regional stability.

The ministry also extended condolences to the victims' families and wished a swift recovery for the wounded.

Niger’s Interior Ministry stated that 44 civilians were killed in Friday’s attack by gunmen linked to the Islamic State (ISIS) group in the southwestern Kokoro region. The assailants targeted a mosque in Gambetta, leaving 44 dead and 13 injured, including four in critical condition.
