The Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency has announced the implementation of the first deportation of illegal immigrants from Niger, after years of stopping.

The immigrants deporting took place on Wednesday from the agency’s deportation office in the presence of the Chargé d’Affaires of the Nigerien Embassy, according to the agency.

The agency added that the immigrants were transferred through the Tumu border checkpoint at the Libya–Niger border in the Murzuq District after completing the deportation procedures from Libya, based on their violation of Libyan laws, indicating that this step came in coordination with the Nigerien embassy in Libya, stressing that deportations will continue in the coming days.
