The former British ambassador to Libya, Peter Millett, said that Libya is facing a great state of uncertainty that does not serve the Libyans, calling the United Nations to demand transparent and legally acceptable procedures.

According to Agence France-Presse, Millett said that several members of the House of Representatives are motivated today to preserve their positions and privileges, rather than allowing a process that leads smoothly to the holding of elections.

Millett considered that the great division now is between the Libyan people who want the elections and the political elite that does not want them, noting that prevention the Libyans of the right to vote and postponing the elections may exacerbate the risk of instability in Tripoli.
