Arab Ministerial Council for Electricity

Libya participated in the 15th session of the Arab Ministerial Council for Electricity, held in Cairo’s New Administrative Capital under the Arab League's sponsorship.

Libya’s delegation, led by Minister of Economy and Trade Mohamed Al-Hweij, called for a clear Arab strategy to harness solar energy and advance related technologies. He also welcomed the establishment of the Arab Common Market for Electric and Renewable Energy.

The meeting reviewed cooperation with international and regional entities, including Arab-Chinese collaboration. Attendees agreed to support the manufacturing of electrical equipment, enhance electricity transmission and distribution, and organize specialized exhibitions.

The session concluded with the signing of agreements for the joint market and issuing 13 resolutions aimed at advancing electricity and renewable energy sectors while addressing challenges in Gaza, Sudan, and Yemen.
