The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has expressed its condolences to the government and people of Iran after an explosion at the port of Bandar Abbas left several dead and injured.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the ministry conveyed its sympathy to the families of the victims and affirmed Libya’s solidarity with Iran during what it described as a "painful ordeal." It also wished a swift recovery to those injured in the incident.
Bandar Abbas, located on Iran’s southern coast along the strategic Strait of Hormuz, is one of the country’s major commercial ports.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the explosion, which, according to Iranian state media, was triggered by improperly stored chemical materials at the port.
