The Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs of the Government of National Unity, Walid Al-Lafi, said at the conclusion of the Trans-Mediterranean Migration Forum (TMMF) that the attendees agreed on a Libya Initiative, which included the GNU's vision in transforming the strategic frameworks for cooperation on the immigration file into a practical, implementable program.
Al-Lafi also said that the attendees had agreed to form a working group to identify projects in source countries of illegal immigration, adding that the GNU would not ignore the humanitarian and legal aspects during the upcoming discussions.
"Figures estimate that the number of immigrants departing from Libya exceeds 40% of the total immigration on average." Al-Lafi said.
