Libya’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Taher El-Sonni, has reaffirmed Libya’s full support for Syria and its people despite the current circumstances.
The remarks came during his meeting with Syrian Foreign Minister Assad Al-Shibani in New York, attended by ambassadors and representatives of the Arab Group, according to a statement El-Sonni posted on his "X" platform account.
During the meeting, El-Sonni stressed the importance of cooperation and joint efforts, highlighting the need to draw on the experiences both nations have endured over recent years.
The two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation and the role of the Arab Group in supporting Syria and its people in recovering from past crises, while preserving the country's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and stability.
