Ministry of Interior has reported that traffic accidents claimed 217 lives in August, according to newly released figures. The data, compiled by the Traffic and Licensing Affairs Department, recorded a total of 757 traffic incidents during the month.
The report also revealed that 362 people sustained serious injuries, while 310 suffered minor injuries. In addition, 1,256 vehicles were damaged, with the estimated cost of material losses reaching nearly 7.8 million dinars.
In a statement, the ministry urged drivers to strictly follow traffic regulations, particularly speed limits and avoid using mobile phones while driving, to ensure the safety of all road users.
