Libya has officially submitted a request to host the headquarters of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) in Benghazi, according to the spokesperson for the House of Representatives (HoR), Abdullah Bliheg.
MP Abdel Salam Nasiyah represented the Libyan HoR at the 37th extraordinary session of the AIPU Executive Committee on Sunday, according to a post on Bliheg’s Facebook page.
The meeting discussed the report of the special committee assigned to amend the union’s charter. Members also agreed to hold the 38th AIPU session in Algeria during the first half of May 2025 and approved the final financial report for the 2024 budget.
