Libya has resumed its public COVID vaccination drive using Chinese shots, the Director of the Vaccination Department at the National Center for Disease Control, Abdel Basit Smieu said.

The Libyan News Agency quoted Smieu as saying that vaccination sites opened Sunday after the Eid holidays, and people who were on the list are getting first priority.

"The NCDC is awaiting a shipment containing around 117 thousand doses of the English vaccine AstraZeneca," the NCDC official said, indicating that other shipments will arrive in succession in the coming period.

Libya recorded 10200 total infections, 3090 deaths, and 168,000 recoveries after registering four new fatalities and 304 fresh cases on Monday, according to the NCDC figures.
