Libya reviews methods to secure its borders to fight illegal migration and terrorism

Member of the Presidential Council, Musa Al-Koni, discussed on Saturday with the Minister of State for Migration, Jdayed Maatoug Jdayed, who in charge of the higher Committee for combating illegal migration, and the Head of Anti-Illegal Migration Authority, Al-Mabrouk Abdul Hafidh, the migration file and its repercussions on all levels.

Al-Koni stressed the need for unifying mechanisms of dealing with the illegal migration file with other countries and organisations, within a single vision to curb it and to employ all resources to secure borders to combat illegal migration and terrorism.

The meeting was part of a tour Al-Koni intends to make, over the next two days, to a number of neighboring countries including Chad, Sudan, and Niger, to discuss securing common borders, fighting terrorism, and cooperation in the illegal migration file.
