A Libyan security delegation led by the Tourist Police and Antiquities Protection Authority, Major General Sunussi Saleh, arrived in the French capital on Tuesday to discuss cooperation in combating antiquities smuggling and protecting cultural heritage.
The Libyan delegation held a meeting with officials from the Office for Combating the Trafficking of Cultural Property at the latter's HQ in Paris.
According to Libya's Interior Ministry, the discussions focused on the importance of security cooperation and the activation of a direct contact point for exchanging information.
The meeting also touched on the possibility of the authority benefiting from training programs to develop its performance in the field of protecting cultural heritage. On the sidelines of the visit, the delegation visited the Louvre Museum to view stolen Libyan artefacts.
