Arab Maghreb Union

Libya’s acting head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Taher Al-Baour, hosted a meeting with Arab Maghreb Union Secretary-General Tarek Ben Salem and his delegation in Tripoli on Sunday.

The discussions focused on revitalizing the Arab Maghreb Union and overcoming obstacles faced by the General Secretariat, as Libya currently holds the presidency of the organization. Also present at the meeting was Osama Saeed, Director of the Arab Affairs Department.

The Arab Maghreb Union, founded in 1989, aims to facilitate free movement of people and goods, enhance security coordination, and promote joint policies among its five member states: Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, and Mauritania.
