A recent global report by "Data Pandas," a website specializing in international statistics, has revealed notable disparities in divorce rates across Arab nations in 2024, reflecting changing social and economic dynamics.
Libya has recorded the highest divorce rate in the Arab world, with 2.5 divorces per 1,000 people, followed closely by Egypt at 2.3 and Saudi Arabia at 2.1 per 1,000. Experts suggest these figures highlight the growing pressures on family structures amidst shifting societal norms and economic challenges.
Algeria, Jordan, and Lebanon follow in fourth place, with a rate of 1.6 divorces per 1,000 people—relatively high but still below the top three countries.
Syria and Kuwait recorded rates of 1.3 divorces per 1,000 people. Meanwhile, the UAE and Qatar stand out for their stability, registering the lowest rates in the region, with just 0.7 divorces per 1,000 people.
